Life Insurance

Consider donating unneeded life insurance policies to the OU Foundation, creating a lasting legacy and supporting your chosen programs.

About Life Insurance Gifts

Life insurance gifts are a planned giving arrangement that is a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy. Whether you give an existing policy or designate the OU Foundation as a beneficiary, your gift will support the programs you choose. Here’s how it works and the benefits it offers:

Benefits

  • Receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction if the policy has value.
  • Deduct contributions made for future premium payments.
  • Policy proceeds are excluded from your taxable estate.
  • Make a significant impact at a relatively low cost.

How it works

  1. Give an existing policy by designating the OU Foundation as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of your policy or keep your policy but designate the OU Foundation as the beneficiary of your policy.
  2. Continue paying any premiums.
  3. Policy proceeds will be applied to your designated purposes.
